To support means to bear all or part of the weight, to hold up to assist.

There are many talented and dedicated social agencies and law enforcement agencies that are desperately trying to reach out to diverse communities in hopes of building trust, understanding and inclusion. However, this is not an easy task. There are many barriers – cultural, linguistic, self-imposed barriers, and issues of cultural awareness, cultural sensitivity, stereotypes and exclusion.

CALPO exists to support those agencies that desire to reach out to immigrant communities, such as the Latin American Community and support their efforts to be more effective. There is no reason why these partners should do it alone. We are proven, CALPO is proOF of the effectiveness of boldly stepping out into the cultural mosaic and inviting others to partake in the process.
